The European release brings up some new questions. Will it be on Steam? If so, do I have to change my region or something?? Or will there be a retail version that I could import from UK amazon??

I think steam would be great it will make the game get a worldwide release(and make Ice Pick Lodge a bit more noticed) And because a mate of mine wants Tension and Pathologic but he cannot get it because it is not on steam ;/

Errrr...... Amazon?

I don't like the concept of beeing "almost" forced to be connected to the internet to be able to play.

I agree it would be nice to have a physical retail product, and I'm pretty sure that's going to happen. However, the best case scenario is that the game will be sold at retail, and on Steam, Direct2Drive, Gamersgate, etc. Steam especially has been great at raising awareness about lower-profile games. And their 'weekend deals' are huge sales boosters.

The original Russian pack is awesome! Too bad the Atari published buyers will actually get the complete game. The LXR told me that the story was rewritten from scratch.

Well, I assume for clarity.

Some points and parts on the Russian version were a bit confusing. (Not that that is a bad thing)

Er... The main story points and basic stuff are as they were. It's just they're presented differently and there are some new actors. :)

I must confess that I'm curious to compare the two versions :)

Ah. The issue there is the phrase "From scratch", which implies everything old was thrown out and the story remade with all new elements.

I was thinking (which usually tends to end bad :) )...

Why isn't Atari releasing more info on Tension / The Void? Surely they would want some media attention...

Speaking of which, found these little gems (Russian version)

There's been some coverage in the German press, but nowhere else yet.

Incidentally, you may find this interesting

How could you keep this away from us???

After seeing the "new" trailer (bits of the old trailers with "The Void" glued on the lower right corner) two things jump to my attention.

First: what god awful music is that :( I suddenly felt like in a fairy tale game as opposed to a dark, oppressive yet beautify world.

Second: 28th of May?? :) (At the end of the trailer)

I agree: That music is totally wrong. And it's especially odd when the soundtrack is full of amazing pieces that could have been used. But that's marketing for you

I've known about the release date for a while, but I was waiting for an official announcement from IPL/Atari... Then I noticed that trailer.

What the f...? This is the first time I'm seeing this trailer too and it's... I'll be kind-hearted and say strange. What the hell are we making, a Tim Burton musical?
As for the release date - hel-lo! It's been on the Atari site for ages and I even recall discussing it somewhere here. :))

I fail then :(

Although I still can't find it in the Atari page, but oh well, that made the month of May the best month of the month... please just get rid of that music. ;)

It's here: de.atari.com. The release date should be the same for English/German/Russian, afaik :)

Well, only the German site has any release date, the UK and PT site don't even have the game in there.

I've never seen it on the UK Atari site despite looking for it numerous times :(

Good to finally get a solid release date :D

http://www.amazon.de/Atari-The-Void/dp/ ... 067&sr=8-1

Something bizarre is going on here. Atari DE has the game, Amazon DE has the game, all others Atari sites and Amazon sites don't even know the game.

I hope Atari is not planing on releasing on Germany first...

I just want it to show on Amazon.co.uk so I can pre order it :D
