You had the budget for English dubbing but not English subtitles? I assume any student into games and desperate for cash would do it for 50$ or something? ;) (At least I imagine there isn't a lot of stuff to translate, so it could be done in a couple of hours)

Well... as I speak German too, I guess I can have Russian audio and German subtitles. But it sucks for any non-German speaking people who want to listen to the original dubbing and I hope you'll have the capacities to remedy that at some point.

Actually..... it isn't English. It's something like Simlish if you have played The Sims games. The spoken dialogue is complete gibberish.

Actually there are English subtitles, you need to switch your game language from Steam>library>knock-knock>properties>language if your language is set to something else for some reason. As for the audio the main character's speach sounds like gibberish intentionally, ghosts speak normally though.

Oh there are? I was just going by the information here, as I don't buy anything on Steam and am waiting for the non-Steam version.

edwardh, don't believe that information :) There are both Russian and English subtitles in the game - and Steam store does not list them because it does list Russian and English voice-over, so 'Subtitles' there actually means 'no voice, only subtitles', like in case of German.

Ah, I see. So it may either be a case of Steam being stupid or Ice-Pick Lodge making a mistake while declaring the availability of languages.

Because especially when you have such a system with check marks and you separate "interface", "full audio" and "subtitles", it doesn't make sense to just assume that there are going to be subtitles for everything that is full audio. I've certainly seen quite a few DVDs and games in my life that had dubbing in some language but no subtitles in the same one.

At any rate - good to know and thanks for clearing it up guys!

For me, subtitles were in Polish (and the translation was excellent, unlike Pathologic :)). Ghost calls were in English. Songs in the gramophone were in Russian (loved them).
