Want to tell some words to you )

As a composer of the Void i can say: music from the trailer by Atari is NOT ingame. Just an Atari's PR-action probably. In the game you'll find the same music as in the Russian version of the game. So don't worry, be happy!

And sorry for creepy english )

I don't think we were ever worried about that, don't worry ;) (if worse had come to worse, I would just mute the sound the play the original soundtrack in winamp in the background)

But if Atari wants to promote the game using that... ugh... talk about missing the point of the game. I wonder if the actually played it...

Since you are here.... thank you. Thank you for creating one of the most beautiful musical score to grace my ears and my computer.

Yeah, the music in The Void is very beautiful. I'm especially fond of those two tracks in the old trailers for the game.

Since some parts sound similar, I imagine you also did the Pathologic soundtrack. If you did, the music was a big reason it had such great atmosphere. :D

What the f...? This is the first time I'm seeing this trailer too and it's... I'll be kind-hearted and say strange. What the hell are we making, a Tim Burton musical?
I think they're saying that your game needs more bunnies and pixies, you bad, bad man.

I totally agree. Mushroomer, your music is amazing!

The Pathologic soundtrack was composed by Andriesh Gandrabur, who also composed some of The Void's soundtrack.

I didn't read page 3 before I posted.

Mushroomer, I love it too. I write bits of music and I can relate to all of your choices. :D When I hear stuff like that it feels as if the music itself is wondering about something. I guess you could say it has character.

So i've been spying on the russian part of the board and found some nice tidbits for us
Quote:
In terms of sound, slightly improved sound engine.
In terms of music, I add about 10 tracks, including new ambient for three obscura, and not counting the small music boxes to script scenes.
In terms of sound design: noise, the steps taken by the sounds of the brothers, new creatures, global sound effects, new characters, all of this has been improved or done again.

Sweet, this keeps looking more and more like an "enhanced edition"-like version than a "completely butchered-up" one, can't wait to get my sweaty hands on it.
If the release date on the DE Atari side is true, and valid for all Europe (or just UK, where I buy my games from), then I'm gonna throw a party!

P.S: IPL, time to get working on that Pathologic remake

Hope they never would. The first child IS beautiful without any remakes. The crowd's waiting for the third one.

Yep. The "home" retranslation is absolutely necessary. For everybody in this world to get the point.))

In all honesty, I actually thought the original translation gave it a certain "charm" and I did understood about 80% of all the dialog but it made the reading a bit of a chore because you had to pay extra attention to it, otherwise you'd be left thinking "lol what". A proper translation would make it more "easy" to read and understand

I think the issue with Pathologic is the lack of VA. I bet the game would benefit greatly if it was dubbed.

That's the very old map, that was trashed in the Russian release. :-) I though all the screens were gone...

Well, apparently Atari (I suppose) supplied that to most of the German news sites. :?

So if I were to pre-order through the German amazon, would the English translation still come with it? Would I be able to choose the English version during the installation? Or would it install German menus, voices etc. automatically? Not seeing it on amazon.co.uk is making me antsy.

Don't order yet. I'm pretty sure that the German version is *only* in German. An English language version should be released shortly afterwards.

If The LxR wants to correct me on this, I'm sure he will :)

I do like the German voiceovers, however, so you may definitely try it if you happen to know German.;)

I dunno, although I like the German language, each time I hear it I get a feeling I'm stuck inside a porn movie of the 70's :D

Don't worry guys, I do my daily tracking of The Void all across the net, so when becomes available to order I'll let everyone know ;)

PS: No offence to anyone German :D

Just found this little gem.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFSKN0cFrpY

Now, I'm positive this is from the English (/German) version (please correct me if I'm wrong) mainly due to the fact of a new location is seen on map, there are several interface upgrades (quantity of colour used is showed while drawing.) and by the German subtitles.

Now I know all the Russian trailers by heart, do I doubt this is a old trailer :)

AND.... they are speaking in Russian if I'm not mistaken, so if we have dual audio, even better.

LxR, Whitewind, hydra9, etc. Feel free to spank me with a two by four if I'm just spreading false rumours.

[EDIT]: This beeing the new map: Map
