Hi community, this is just an awesome game, is warmly welcomed this radical different approach for a game, a survival one.

Problem is, I keep running in a 100% times Crash to Desktop bug whenever I kill a bat in the Fireflies (reservoir) chamber, just beginning the game, after Sister [what's her name?] tells you to kill the beasts lurking her chambers.

Then a "report problem to microsoft" window appears, saying the game.exe crashed and the mod is engine.dll. It also gives a txt file to inform microsoft, I wonder if is the debug and if it may be useful.

I'm using Nvidia GF8800GT card, Windows XP, 3gB RAM, latest-latest drivers and.. I dont know what else may be useful to track down what is happening here.

Thanks!

We are going to need game.log and exception.txt (found somewhere in My documents/My Games/Void) and, probably, your dxdiag (Start - Run - "dxdiag" - Save all Information). The latter is exhaustive list of you computer's configuration with respect to games; we won't need to know any more information to understand how the game may work on your PC (I mean, from the engine's point of view).

Please note that game.log is rewritten each time you launch the game, i.e. if you launched the game after it crashed, this file becomes useless. Exception.txt is rewritted only after the game crashes, so I guess you file is apt, unless you got some different crash :).

Ok, I've just recreated the bug to have fresh logs.

Perhaps some stuff on DxDiag is on spanish, if you need translation don't hesitate to ask ;]

PS: I couldn't attach the files [doesn't allow to attach log, txt, extension-less, and-who-knows-what-else files]
so here they are:

Game.log
Exception.txt
DxDiag.txt

OK, we'll need exception.dmp from the same directory. No need to reproduce the bug the third time, the file is only generated when an exception happens.

OK, looks like it's a problem with Ageia PhysX. Try re-installing the latest drivers from:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.0814.html
And if that doesn't help, copy this DLL into the game\bin folder (where the game.exe is located):
http://narod.ru/disk/14800587000/PhysXCooking.dll.html

Не, it keeps happening, even after copying the physx dll into the game.exe folder. But it's definitely a physx problem as when I try to reinstall it, it just gives me a windows that says "text" [literal] and the cancel option an nothing else. I'll find a way to remove physx, reinstall it and see how that works.

I get the window with only cancel button when i try to install older or same physxi have already. Just go to add/remove in your control panel, find physx, remove it, and then install it again :P

So maybe problem was that I had a too new physx version? Maybe it was a beta one. At any rate, uninstalled, computer hanged, check disk, uninstalled again, reinstall and now everything is perfect ;] Thks for all the support ppl, keep it up! Now I'm gonna play a little of this charming game before going back to my degree <.<
