Hi, everyone! :)

It's the first time I post here, although I've been lurking the forum for a long time, looking for news on the launch of The Void/Tension. And now that I finally have it, there is a little problem that stopped my "joy time". :(

The game seems to crash with a blue screen, then reboots the PC, everytime I use one of these "battle" glyphs (Hawk and Wasp mainly, don't know if there's more) on a Predator (the big, floating one). It only lasts for a few seconds, but I can see there is some sort of problem with the Nvidia Drivers (nv4_disp.dll, more exactly). I tried reinstalling the PhYsX drivers, but same problem. Any idea on this? Not that I can't continue playing without killing things, but I wouldn't want the same to happen when I'm fighting a Brother. :P

Try this, it seems the same problem with PhysX, i.e. you'll likely have to remove the driver manually.

That's exactly what I did before posting, but didn't work. :(

Then we need crash logs (exception.txt, and, if I am correct, exception.dmp) + your dxdiag. For the latter type "dxdiag" in Start menu under Vista, or press "Start-Run" on XP and type there. After the program finishes gathering information, you may save it to a .txt file.

Can't find any exception.txt or dmp around, just a game.log in the MyDocuments directory. :o Is it hidden anywhere or it just doesn't appear with a BSOD?

mmm... I though that in "My games/Void/" there should appear "exceptions" each time the game crashes (in contrast to game.log, exception.txt only is created/rewritten after a crash).

Maybe it's not a problem with the game itself but the drivers...will try to install the most new ones (not just the Physx).

Well, you need old PhysX, not the new one (there are surely suitable drivers on the disk). The game was developed when Ageia hadn't been bought by NVIDIA.

Ok, I think I found the problem.

I re-installed drivers but the game kept crashing at the same point. BUT, I noticed that hitting the predators with a weak blow of Hawk or Wasp wouldn't get me the bluescreen. So, the real problem was killing the predator in one hit with a lot of Colour. If I kill him in two or three hits instead of one I get no error at all, just a weird slow-down of performance.

So, at least I can go on with the game, even with that auto-imposed "no over-killing" rule. It doesn't solve the problem, but I can keep playing at least. :) Thanks for the replies, though.
