Hello,

Only just starting with The Void. I got past the first sister, but found myself rather low on lympha, 4th cycle with all the trees producing very little -- so I couldn't find a way to open the heart of the next sister. I decided to start again.

One of the things I'm not sure about is capturing fireflies. I've tried dropping colour on the ground using the donor glyph, in the vicinity of a firefly but not so close that they run away. Sometimes they come and allow me to capture them, but often they just ignore it and wander off. I don't want to waste too much colour for these guys, so I'm wondering if there's a good technique for it?

Is there a good distance to drop the colour?
Does the creature have to be "looking" my way?
Do I need to use a specific colour?
Do some colours work better than others?

Yes.

All negative: it doesn't matter where the creature is lookin and which color you use.

When the firefly moves you may place a drop of colour on its way. It solves two problems: you don't have to drop color while near the creature (=it won't fly away) but the drop IS going to be close enough to the creature to be noticed. It works well in the "Fireflies" level when the creatures fly the stairs. When they do this, you can predict exactly where they are going to be soon (one can only get off the stair at the top or at the bottom end).
