I am a jaded old-skool gamer, i just purchased VOID from STEAM last week, and finally, after all this time
a game has satisfied my gaming ITCH.
The developers clearly understand what makes a compelling and immersive experience.
Big budgets games of late are absolutely SOULESS!, empty, cheap B-GRADE interactive movies!, MASS EFFECT 2 is a perfect example
of a HORRID direction for gaming!, nothing quite as tiresome then celebratory voice overs, low-res textures and a kids-toy feel to
the whole experience.
As a mature gamer, 30+ years of age THE VOID is the first title in a VERY VERY LONG TIME, that has been able to sustain my interest!
it is comforting to know their are developers out there who have a GENUINE sense of artistic poise, who understand surrealism, who know the best games are
those that allow you the time to relax and explore, and can STILL! yet design a world that is unpredictable, and outside of your OWN ability to imagine.
I hope to see MORE! and even further developed idea's based on the principles and concepts explored in THE VOID!
WE NEED REAL GAMES, JUST LIKE THIS!.... THAT APPEAL ON MANY LEVELS.
