R.I.P. Satoshi Kon, who died yesterday. In my opinion, the greatest anime director. Regardless of whether you're an anime fan or not, you should check out his work. He created wonderful, emotional, intelligent and breathtaking cinema. He will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace, Satoshi Kon.
Your works will be missed, as somebody on the net said: "It’s not that anime will never be the same with Satoshi Kon gone. It’s now much more likely that anime will always be the same." I'll sign under every word.

Yeah, that's completely true. His works were the first pieces of anime I really connected with. I've never seen anything else as mature and human as say, Tokyo Godfathers.

Tokyo Godfathers
Millennium Actress
Perfect Blue
Paranoia Agent (TV series)
Paprika (His most recent movie).

He also wrote one segment (the best segment :) ) for a collaborative film project called 'Memories'.

And that, unfortunately, is all we have. Though it is an amazing body of work. Watch any of these that you can. I challenge you not to laugh, hold back tears, have your brain stretched and marvel at the visuals :)
