
Still no luck! I installed another 256MB of RAM (total now: 512MB) and exactly the same problem. I re-installed the game, totally from CD (no errors this time), I re-installed DirectX and the nVidia drivers... No change... The game still quits at the same point.

Note: It doesn't ALWAYS quit with 'bakalavr.lsh'... Sometimes the logfile will end slightly earlier (e.g. at 'intro_theater_svetilnik'). But it certainly never gets further than this.
The first real problem seems to be:
