Someone made me aware of a fantastic looking article that aims to defend and explain Pathologic to all the people who thought it was 'crap' or simply didn't get it. This is a long article in three parts that I haven't read yet, but from the comments, it looks like a lot more people are now going to be buying the game. This makes me really happy :D

Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Butchering Pathologic - Part 1: The Body

I read those two articles regarding Pathologic then immediately went and ordered the game, should be getting in in a few days time.

I understand that the English translation of the game is not quite the best, unfortunately I don't speak Russian so can't help in it.

Even if I don't enjoy it then I am willing to give this game a whirl, it sure does sound interesting from what I read in the articles.

I must say Tension looks cool =]

Oh yeah blogged about these two games here.

Yeah, this is the best article about Pathologic I've seen. It's not just the best of english arcticles, it's also better than all russian articles that I've read.

Yep, it just took a three part feature article to finally do justice to the game

Evo: I'm glad you bought a copy - I hope you like it!

So do I! Was only cheap, just a shame couldn't get it from a digital distribution platform so the Ice-Pick Lodge guys could get all the proceeds.

Will be talking about it in my weekly PC column for 411 Mania as well so that should further spread the word =]

2Evo: Superb. :) I think I would have bought the game myself after that review, if I weren't a developer. :) Oh yeah, and thanks for sharing the word in your blog - we'll definitely be releasing Turgor/Tension outside Russia... :)
Hope the bad translation won't spoil the fun. Also, I think we will be making a new patch to resolve technical issues... :)

Not a problem, I love to spread the word of games, especially interesting and non-mainstream ones like this :D

Great to hear that Tension will be coming outside of Russia, the latest trailer looks fantastic!

I am sure I can deal with the translation :P If you ever want some help with making sure the English translation of anything is ok then let me know and I will see what I can do.

Is there a chance that the patch would fix the "error creating renderer" problem for certain video cards? I bought the game after reading those articles too, but it was only after paying for it and downloading it that I found out it won't run on my system. :( Very frustrating, as I was really looking forward to trying it.

Well, we might just fix this manually - could you send me your DxDiag via PM? (Start -> Run -> DxDiag -> Save All Information)

Wow, not bad at all! :P According to the comments most of those strategy games on the list above Pathologic are actually made by the dev/group that owns Gamer's Gate. I thought that was kinda funny.

Just imagine what kind of sales figures you'd be getting from something really high profile like Steam. ;)

That would be Paradox and yes, they own gamersgate.
Steam is good and all,but to me it sometimes seems quite discriminative towards EU customers, plus the speed is quite slow compared to gamersgate and the likes.

No. :(
Now that sucks big time, that means I kinda bought it for nothing then.:(
and here I thought buying games means supporting the devs...
Is there a good reason for that or is it because of some agreement with the publisher?

Thanks for your moral support then! :)
It's because of the agreement with the publisher. We'll think of a way for people to support us for Tension, though.

Sorry for the necro but I gotta question: the article mentions that the Bachelor is able to find out that it is because of Big Vlad that the Haruspicus gets imprisoned during day 4. I've replayed the beginning and end of that day but couldn't find any hints in that direction. Anyone remembers who you have to talk to to get that information?

Otherwise awesome game so far!

Is there any way to make in-game screenshots or do I have to use FRAPS?
