Hi Guys :)

I got "The Void" since yesterday, and what I am able to see right now is that this game is fantastic :) Since I feel like this, I would like to ask if it would be possible to post the poems used in the german intro? Or at least who is the poet and what is the name of the poem.

This would be awesome :)

Oops, sorry, forgot about it... So.

Most of the poems — the finale poems, are by Maximilian Voloshin from his Corona Astralis cycle.
The introductory poem is by Luís de Camões — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luís_de_Camões
The text read on the Surface is an excerpt from Checkhov's "Seagull".

Thanks a lot for your replies, but either I am not able to find something or don't know...

I have different passages from the intro poem (german) and tried to find something with google, but unfortunately I am not able to get even a hint on the poems name :(

These are the first 3 lines of the german intro:

Und mit ihm schwindet das Verstehen,

Translation:
Quote:
The dream of future you're seeing,
it vanished.
And with it understanding shrinks,

(I am aware that this is not the correct translation :))

So maybe someone can me help a bit more? :(

If so it is an exert from a book called Lusiadas, Canto I

If not is probably from Lusiadas also, since it is his most famous book.

I've made the following translation of the intro from Russian into English, don't know whether it's gonna be used in the English release though.

The dream of future that you see dissolves
And with the time so does the apprehension
The world under the sky is no exception
For all you see around you evolves

New traits in things familiar you sense
But futile is the hope without fruition
The grief you knew reverts to empty visions
The bliss you felt leaves only false regrets

But winter leaves and so do snow and coldness
And spring revives the world with loving warmness
But there’s law: all things decay and age.

The vanity itself won’t dry your tears
For you’re afraid that once the time is steered
The word will turn devoid of the change.

Your translations have been modified heavily, for in some places the meaning was distorted (at times — total opposites were used! ;) ), but the base is yours.

2Bruteforce: I've done the translation. :) With an exception of some of the poems — bratt_n has done Voloshin's poems, and I've just edited them heavily. Also, hydra9 has done a lot of editing of all text and QC. Althought, I can't release the translation to public just yet.

Please do. I'm always looking forward to compare different variants. By the way, translating Voloshin was quite an effort because 1) English is not my native language. 2) Voloshin's style is obscure enough to make a Russian native (and an educated one) ponder the meaning at times.
