I was actually referring to Dankovsky ))) Wait until the ending and you'll understand what I mean))

You lost me there then :) I'll wait for the ending. But I have a gut feeling that rail artillery will not go unused... death from above anyone? :D

Actually, Dankovskiy's choice won't be the most stunning thing in the end ;)

Yet stunned I was. His choice was as manly as it could be. No quarter, no remorse, just ash and burning fire.

As Chekhov (one of the most brilliant Russian writers) said: if there's a rifle hanging on the wall it's supposed to shoot in the final act.

Finaly I'm stuck on day 9.

I need to get 5 rifles for the children of the polyhedron, the commander gives me one, and I have my own. Now where the hell to get the other 3/4? (I would like to keep mine :D )

I know the his a walkthru, but with that I feel tempted to consult more than I should.

Complete secondary quests to get the other rifles OR rob a supply wagon for a full loss of karma.

Ah yes... secondary quest... the 3 girls and Burak... guess I'll have to spend a shit load of money on medicines then :(

Just remembered, I tried to talk to Lara, and the mask only gave me the option to give powder, which I don't want to :P

Guess I'll have to raid

If someone's sick, you can hand over any basic pills to keep them going for that day. You'll have to come back and do it again the next day, though.

I did that with Gryph so I could by rifle ammo,

However, the executors at the 3 girls from day 9 only accept powder and I have pill with me.

Well update:

Loot the supply is impossible taking into account that it makes every soldier in town KOS to you... it is fun for stealth but almost impossible to reach the polyhedron after it. :)

As for the medicine you are right, but the executor only accepts the red or purple pills, but it doesn't accept the blue pills, so I'm going to go bankrupt on red pills. :(

Sounds interesting! Where can we see this video walkthrough, if it's already available?

Throdax, you don't have to kill all the soldiers on the spot, just the five fools who attack you near Julia's place. Your reputation won't be ruined. You'll get the three rifles you lack without much trouble.

As for the orange pills, do you buy trinkets for teenage girls at Andrey's pub? They have plenty of those pills.

5 ifles are nothing compared to the sutuation you get yorself into on the 10-th day.... or was it 11-th. Anyways, you'll understand waht I mean once you get to the point.

So I just finished the bachelor.

Wow!

Though, a bit quizzical about the ending.

**spoilers**

Being the real solution to Daniels scenario the decision to not decide. leaves the whole story a bit weird... about.... well, about everything! :D

A pity though, I whanted to raze the polyhedron as Burahk agreed, unfortunaly I could save anyone from Burakh list since all my powders and panacea where stolen to those army rouges on day 11. :(

Eleventy billion thumbs up to Pathologic.

Still a lot of confusion about the true story. Guess I'll have to play Burakh and Klara scenarios. :D

[EDIT]:

Just read the walkthru... ARG!!! Not fair, young Vlad had to live to have the true true ending

And the officer on day 11 had all my stuff after the cemetery...... not fair.

Well done, Throdax :D

Glad you enjoyed it. But... how does Pathologic compare to Tension?

Hard to compare.

Both are clearly master pieces, yet on whole different levels.

Tension touched me more on the inside (as wrong as that may sound) as I have a strange obsession with death and surreal environments. But there are something about Pathologic that kept me urging me to play till day 12, not just the story, something unease, a feeling of dreadful lurking in the corner of the eye just beyond sight.

Both invoke different feelings within ourselves, so if I where to rate, I would give Pathologic a 9/10 and Tension 10/10.

2 Throdax

So it was day 11 after all. But you know, you could get everything back in fact (including panacea and powders), or exploit a bug and not lose anything at all and finish the story properly.

I disagree regarding the ratings of Pathologic and Tension. Pathologic is more consistent imo.

Yeah, I read about the getting things back in the walkthru after I finish the game.

You are right, Pathologic is more consistent, but Tension is more mystic :D

I made 417 saves in the Bachelor scenario, so I might get back to get my stuff from the officer... I can't save young Vlad though :(

the *mystique* part comes in abundance in Klara's scenario.

What I like about Pathologic is despite exploring the whole city on the very first walkthrough you get only a third of the whole story (unlike most game where one walkthrough for a single char is more than enough to get everything regarding the plot). The play-style for each char differs greatly as well.

What I truly miss in Pathologic is the lack of voice over. It would benefit greatly to the already near flawless atmosphere. The LXR told me that the voice overs (and there's so much text in the game) are very expensive in Russia for some odd reason.

True, full voice over would really add to the atmosphere even more. Heck I would do it, but then again I can't assure quality :P

But I like to believe we are old school gamers, and as such we are used to create the atmospheres inside our own minds, see Planescape Torment and the old graphical adventures, text galore all of them.

I would also love to see Pahologic using the Tension engine.
