So The Void is finally out. Unfortunately, due to a postal strike, no-one will be receiving it today. But hopefully next week :)

It's available as a digital download or retail box. The publisher, Mamba Games, can ship internationally. Or it's available from the usual online retailers.

What's the point of this thread? To commemorate the occasion, discuss the release and perhaps so someone can post 'FIRST!' when they get their copy :wink:

Why didn't you buy from Mamba? Not only it's cheaper ( :twisted: ) but you'd be supporting the publisher directly. Publishers need to know that these kind of games have a market this side of Europe (and maybe even across the ocean) :roll:

Well, some profit does, but I imagine the percentage differs. If it's sold in a store or something like Steam or Gamersgate, the store gets a cut. If you get it from the publisher (like, say, Valve games with Steam, or Stardock with Impulse) they get 100%.

Hence the raised price on distributors already covers their part, so most of the time the publisher sees the same amount of money. I think.

Mamba needs to get on with it.

I have credit card in hand, ready, but nowhere online where I can download the game.

FM10 drops on Friday and if The Void isn't available by then I'm going to be awfully tempted to give my money to Sports Interactive instead and they already have more than enough.

Not having a digital download available is pretty much costing them a sale from me as well at the moment. There's really no excuse not to have this game out on some form of digital *cough*steam*cough* service.

My copy arrived today! :D Direct from Mamba.

It was sent in one of those jiffy-bags that, instead of containing bubble wrap, contains a layer of shredded mulch that looks like loft insulation. The last time I received such a bag was many years ago and it contained a (rare) CD copy of the original System Shock. I was so excited that I ripped the bag and covered myself in crap.

Today's opening went much more smoothly.

Inside the bag was a shrink-wrapped copy of the game - in DVD case and with a printed manual (a serious rarity in these times). Very, very cool.

I'd take a picture but my camera needs charging.

Thanks Jason (and Mamba). Hope everyone else will receive theirs soon!

I bet I won't receive my copy until the end of the week(even though I pre ordered it late september),usually takes like 3-5 days to get stuff from UK.
Plus if the UK postal strike is still on,maybe not even this week...

But I hope you'll have fun with the void,which I'm sure you will. :D

The postal strike is meant to rear its head again this Thursday/Friday. But UK people should have the game before then and for non-UK people, it should be safely outside the country and on its way to their door.

Arrived safe and sound this morning from Play.com. Bit confused though with the bonus parts. I used the front end to access them and after clicking on each choice, say video - nothing happens. Any ideas?

Glad to finally be able to play though.

OK, guys, bad news.
For some reason there are no bonuses included on the English release.
But, since we've promised, I'll make a torrent download available soon with the same content and some extra. Stay tuned and sorry for the trouble - we're currently trying to figure, why and where this happened.
