Ok so I bought the void on sale with the steam holiday discount and I'm liking it but I can't seem to stop dieing. I conserve color without wasting it and I've set up the garden as well. I get to the part where the sister asks me to kill all the predators, a 2nd cycle chimes, I collect from my garden and then I'm pretty much stuck doing nothing.

I'm confined to the mines, the firefly reserve, the garden, and the main sister chamber (nothing is there). I investigated everything and collected all color. I can't go into the "Atrim" or whatever, it'll let me float up to it but I can't enter it or go into another sisters chamber area. I find myself stuck floating back and forth trying to get my cycle to get the garden to respawn.

Last game I had 2 life and I was heading through the last second of a cycle straight into the garden for a spawn and died before I could zone in.

Am I missing something? Do I need to make garden tree's out of the little shrubs in the firefly reserve or something? I just get stuck in this mode where I've unlocked all 3 of the rooms, nothing is there, and all that's left to do is float back and forth trying to regrow my garden but I end up running out of color because it's my only source and I've micro farmed every ounce of it out of the 3 tiny rooms I'm contained in. I have enough color in my little color output area but I end up not having enough to put into the hearts in time for my only source of color (my garden) to respawn.

Tips would be appreciated, as I really want to keep playing this game.

Thanks

To survive, you don't need to put all the colour you gather into all of your hearts - just having one heart filled at a time is enough. So don't put everything from your memory into your body at once! If you're afraid of dying too early, just monitor the one filled heart, and fill another only when the first one is getting empty.

Remember that refining all the colour as fast as you can to paint as many trees as possible early might not be the best tactic - try for example refining enough colour to paint less trees, but keep enough to survive for the next of the cycle; also Amber speeds up the process of refining, so if you're afraid you're losing colour too fast, put less Amber into your hearts.

If you want to explore the rest of the map, you will need to feed the Sister with colour using the donor glyph to get her to open the passages to adjacent chambers.

Yes, there are some trees in Fireflies that can be coloured too. Remember you can also hunt the little floating critters - drop some colour on the ground with donor when a firefly's near, back off, wait for it to get take the bait, then grab it when it's feeding on the colour you dropped. That's also a trick that should help you survive if you have colour in your palette but not memory - drop some on the ground using the donor glyph (that way you won't lose precious drops) in the air, then collect it again - it's put it back in your memory, so you can fill your hearts with it again. (It probably does some domain damage, but hey, if you were going to die otherwise that shouldn't be that much of a concern.)

Hope any of this is helpful, and that you get to enjoy this great game. :D

This trick doesn't work in The Void anymore. You cannot collect the colour you dropped by yourself.

Thank you umgenni, I'll try that. Do you know of a way to boost life? Like, the little thing that ticks down every second you're in the chamber moving map? Is getting more color the only way? Also, how many tree's do I need to put in the garden in order to fulfill "grow a garden to support your life"?

Ok, a few starting tips:

1) A few fully grown trees are always better than a handful of weak trees. When using the Donor Glyph, try to fill the little red meter until it flashes - that means the tree will give you the maximum amount of colour.

2) You will not be able to make enough colour from Nameless' chambers alone to support yourself. You need to start filling Nameless' hearts - I usually try to aim for having the first two hearts unlocked by cycle 4 or 5.

3) Filling Nameless' hearts can be easier if you fill your hearts with Gold.

4) Where possible, avoid fighting predators. In the short run, you'll waste colour, in the long run, bad things can start to happen.....

I'm at the part where she tells you to grow a garden, and there's a creature in the garden. Do I kill the creature and then fill the tree's? How many tree's should I fill till it completes the quest? I want to do it my own way but I keep dieing :p lol.

Btw when I fill a tree I don't see a meter that goes red just a number counter that tells me how much color I put in it.

The meter is a curve in the bottom left of the screen. It only appears when you start to draw the donor symbol on a tree.

The trees in the Sisters garden each take around 35-50 colour to fill completely. As for "quests" and such - its not a quest in the sense of "colour 10 trees, then return to me for xp and shinies", its more of a general suggestion. The plot will advance around the end of cycle 4 or 5, by which time you really need to have filled at least one of the Sisters hearts.

As for the creature, yes, kill it and the other two creatures in the other chambers. Don't spend a lot of colour doing it - colour, as you've found, is hard to come by in the early stages. Each creature dies from a blob of 10-15 colour.
