the graphic card is a GeForce FX5600 128Mb... Lowering the textures did not work.. i will try to update the drivers, although i have put this graphic card a month ago, and downloaded the latest drivers... |

The latest version you should have is: v6.14.10.9147 I guess you are downloading and installing them now. I hope it works out for you. |

Quote: the graphic card is a GeForce FX5600 128Mb... And the log says you are using 5200, which is semi-compatible with the game due to poor texture support (needs to support up to 4096x4096). This might be fixed in a patch. For now, try to launch the game in the lowest possible resolution - 800x600.

sorry, my bad, it is a fx5200... got it very very cheap.. it is better than my older card (mx440 64Mb) =) i tried to run the game with the lowest resolutions available and with everything disabled in the textures. i will try the latest patch to see if it works thanks for the help |

Sorry to disappoint you, but the patch isn't out yet, and we are unsure if it will ever be... Try using "3D Analyzer" (Google it) to emulate a better card. |

Installing Windows Media Player 10 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... fault.aspx) should help resolve your problem for sure - has been tested on the Russian forum.

For a first, try installing the latest codecs via a codec Pack - that will not require Windows Media 10 - K-Lite Codec pack would do. Beforehand, all codecrelated stuff is better off uninstalled. |

I've installed the K-Lite codec pack (full version) but this has not solved it. The error I get is still the same. I also get an exception.txt and exception.dmp which shows there is a null pointer exception in D3D.dll (part of the game). I've added below the end of the exception.txt and the stack trace from the exception.dmp file. I don't have the symbol files, but if you have access to these and want the .dmp file, I can email this - let me know where to send it. I don't know if the fact that it is reporting the error creating the texture in engine.log means this is a DirectX/graphics card issue, or if this is codec related. If it's codec related, which codec does the game need (name and version) so I can check it's installed? Or does the error info I've provided indicate a different issue. I'd really apprecaite help in getting this game to work. Many thanks. I've forwarded your problem to the engine programmers - they'll think of something for sure. There's also a posibility, that a patch might be released, thouh a slight one. This problem is usually connected with WMV codecs - everything is fine with your videocard and drivers, but I can't seem to find what exactly causes this error. ![]() best of luck. |

Thanks very much - I look forward to a solution. Dxdiag sent by PM - let me know if you don't receive ok. Chris |
