I just saw this:
http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/p ... rId,87417/

I can't believe it... The full German version was given away FREE on a magazine cover CD?

Now that's news to me... Can't say it's good news too.

:( Yeah, I'm stunned.

On the plus side, I guess it means more people will play the game now...

I thought it was only released about six months ago in Germany?

A little longer than that - the English version was released later that the German on the 18 of August 2006, so it's surely more than 6 months. Closer to a year I guess.

BTW, Pathologic was released in Italy just recently. )

Post a reply here, when you find out! I'm interested to know...

It looks legitimate. I think that's a major German magazine. I could be wrong, though.

Well, the magazine mighthave bought the rights absolutely legally, but can the german publisher sell those rights? That's what I'm thinking about... I'll keep you posted.

viewtopic.php?t=3951&start=0 - meanwhile, here's something else, that might catch your attention - we've had a meeting of the fans with creators from all over Russia and even CIS countries - the topic has some nice photos of us. )

Sorry for digging up a very old thread, just wanted to say that this is common practice in German PC magazines, the more niche a title is, the earlier it will show up bundled with a mag (I don't know about the particular legal situation with Pathologic, of course).

Some other games the same magazine had in 2007:
Freedom Force 2, Beyond Good & Evil, Keepsake, 2 Sherlock Holmes games (not the old dos-games, but recent ones from 2004 and 2007), Pacific Storm

Hi derboo :) Yeah, I've found out more about this since I started the topic. I think it's actually very cool for German customers that they get complete games on their coverdiscs. The last time that happened in the UK was in the late '80s/early '90s, though the games were often pretty crappy

I think this is probably a good thing for Ice-Pick Lodge as it means a lot more people will be exposed to their work. Hopefully the cover-mount created a few more fans who are now waiting expectantly for The Void :)

By the way, the standalone Version is only 5€ by now, as opposed to the somewhat hard-to-get status of the english version (at least when talking physical copies).

There has also been a bundle with Pathologic, Daemonica, In Memoriam 2, and Another World(!) in one pack.

I bought my copy of Pathologic brand new and factory-sealed for 99p. It almost feels like I pirated it. :?

They're out of stock now, but look at the price GAME.co.uk were selling it for, new - 96 English pence :)
http://www.game.co.uk/PC/Action/Horror/ ... pathologic

(Although £9.99 for a digital copy is still a good price.)

Haven't had a cola in many years, so I don't know. What I do know is that it costs me more than twice as much just for one beer at the pub!
