Someone has a lot of free time on their hands... No explanation for now, better see for yourself.  That reminds me of a project I'm planing to do with Tension/Turgor/Typrop/The Void (This game is starting too have many names )

I love the idea of what this guy is doing, though I think that repeating so many conversations is a bit much! I saw a forum thread somewhere where a person played through the whole of Hard Truck: Apocalypse (aka. Ex Machina), plus its expansion pack, with accompanying videos and commentary. He also encouraged others on the forum to play along with him. It's a great way of introducing games to a wider audience.Anyway: The thing that struck me most from looking at this is the sheer beauty of the screenshots. It's been a while since I played Pathologic, and I still think it's one gorgeous looking game - despite what certain reviewers may have said  Oh, and happy Christmas to everyone! |

Some updates with this project. First of all, if you don't know what the whole deal is... SA has a separate forum for something we call Let's Play, where one person plays through one of his favorite games and shows it off to everyone else in an easily readable/watchable manner while also adding a personal touch to everything. Either you take screenshots and add in your own text, or you make a video of it and either add subtitles or record yourself talking. The idea is that if you don't own that particular console, don't play old games or just don't have time for a long game, you can still enjoy that game anyway. The whole thing usually involves some interaction between the person playing and the people watching/reading. You can read SA without being a paying member, but then there will be some rather annoying adds. The forum with all this is found here. The thread you linked to was the first attempt to do a Let's Play of Pathologic. The guy wanted to do it without having played the game much before, but he overestimated just how complicated Pathologic is, especially when you have to explain everything to other people. He didn't last very long and gave up on the first day of the Bachelor scenario. I find Pathologic to be an extremely interesting game, and having played it through as the Haruspicus and trying out the other two characters, I started reading everything I could find about the game on these forums to make sure I was prepared. I have started a second Let's Play of Pathologic, also playing as the Bachelor. Things have gone a lot better and we are now near the end of day 3. I am doing my best to retranslate the dialogue, letters and quest information into something closer to proper English. Since I do not know any Russian, I go by the official English translation and only rewrite what we actually encounter in the game. It's working great so far, but we are having a good laugh at some of the text in the game. While this project will take me months, it's making me find a lot of small details and get a much better understanding of the game than by just playing it through normally. There are also a LOT of people who are interested in the story and such of Pathologic but can't bring themselves to play it all the way through (or even start!). The new thread can be found here. Welcome to the forums, sir! You're doing a great job with the playthrough, especially the re-writing of dialogue. We could use some of it for the Pathologic re-translation project, if that ever gets going again. |

We have a Pathologic re-translation going, and even though it's progressing very-very slow (mainly, because I was about the only one to do the translating, as nobody else knows Russian), your help with these English lines would be of great use to this! While I don't think you should bother adding them directly into the repository, It'd be cool, if you could post them here from time-to-time. (Or maybe we'd just take them from SA ). Other than that... We might get this re-translated someday officially inhouse, like we did with Turgor / Tension / The Void. The know portraits are: The Haruspicus (Studio CEO Nikolay Dybowsky), General Blok (Peter Potapov), the soldiers were modelled (crappy) after Airat Zakirov... And I forgot what else. Quote: Roughly how old is the Devotress supposed to be? Her character model, portrait, CGI version, and artwork versions all look vastly different ages. She's supposed to be 14. Her tall looks are explained in the end of the game, and her actual age - in her scenario.

I don't speak a bit of Russian, nor read Cyrillic, but I'll help in any way possible to help re-translate Pathologic in English. It is one of the better gaming experiences to ever be released, and I would love for it to find a larger audience. It is a shame it is so deep and so few know of it... I'll keep my eyes on the Translation forum and help out if I can. |

I found that walkthrough a couple of months ago. It is very useful for planning ahead. I go through everything for one day at a time. Give my thanks to whoever wrote it. We will probably come up with quite a lot of questions for you, so I'll get back to you on that. |
