Pathologic is my new favourite game of all time. Previously, it was the similarly atmospheric "Thief" series, but that has now been relegated to number two.

I am frequently disappointed by games, especially those with elements of horror, because they seem to dumb everything down. This game has the best pacing of any I have played, and the atmosphere is so immersive that I don't even mind the endless walking. I think it adds to the feeling of urgency, this need to keep moving, and besides, you get to enjoy the architecture.

I even like the combat – it's true that it could be better, but the rationing of bullets and the difficulty in beating an opponent in the midst of a stressful confrontation both appeal to me.

Also, as a firearms buff myself, I have to say that it's very cool that the Webley-Fosbery made it into the game as the revolver.

This game is a true piece of art, and I would love to see another like it (though obviously not an exact replica) from Ice Pick, my new favourite gaming studio!

PS:
I would also like to recommend that those interested in this game read Stewart O'Nan's "A Prayer for the Dying." It is a novel about a plague of diphtheria descending upon a small town, as seen through the eyes of the man who serves as the town's sheriff, undertaker, and priest. As things get worse and worse with each passing day, he finds it harder and harder to live up to his beliefs and do the right thing...

Hi :)

I'm really glad that you like the game so much. Also, thanks for the book recommendation... I will check it out.

Interesting trivia about the revolver, as well.

The English-language version of The Void (Ice-Pick Lodge's next game) will be out in nine days (23rd October)!

I really want to play Planescape but it's £35 second hand on Amazon. Does anyone know somewhere I can get it cheaply?

I remember GamersGate having a 5$ copy or something along the lines. Also, try e-Bay :)

If this is to be believed, Planescape: Torment will be re-released on DVD in less than two weeks.

Oh, and hi everyone, I just registered :)
