Hello guys,

I'm playing the English version of The Void (for review). I'm finding myself a little lost, to be honest, and I was wondering if you guys had some general hints or tips? Here's my current situation:

I've filled both hearts of the nameless sister, and visited the two others that are close to her. A bunch of brothers just entered the game.

I've no idea how to get silver or violet colour, there doesn't seem to be any around, so I don't know how to please the two next sisters. Amber seems rare as well, and I used all my amber on a tree, which seemed to give less colour in return.

Also, my garden is generally pretty crappy, I'm not sure I quite understand the mechanics there. Should I take all the colour from the trees, every cycle? Or should I leave some to make the trees grow for the next cycle? Can I "reset" a tree, or feed it more so it gives me more in return?

Is there a time limit or something, or can I just mess around for as many cycles as I want? I feel I'm constantly wasting time.

Each sister likes two colours, but the colour distribution in the game in random, but you usually have at least one of the four colour to feed a sister.

Trees accumulate for more or less 3 cycles, but I think the gains are constant during those cycles. Once a tree is dead, it is dead forever, no way to recycle it. I see the trees as backup. When growing a tree, try and fill it to the max to maximize profits.

You have around 35 cycles to finished the game. If you feel that it means IPL did it right ;)

Right, so if I feed a tree, say, 10 units, it'll grow 10 units per cycle for three cycles, no matter if I empty it each time or not?

You say you use trees as backup, what other sources of colour are there (except finding it randomly scattered about)?

Ok, so I have been wasting a lot of time with my aimless wandering. I guess I have to reload an earlier save (a bit annoying because of the repetitive nature of this part of the game, but oh well).

Tree growth is not that linear I belie.

I have to let LxR answer that.

In the new version, which was released internationally (in Germany :)) , trees do recover. You just need to wait a few cycles after the tree is empty. However, the trees are considerably "weaker" in this version. As for trees, the lympha income is not linear. Generally the tree produces more at the beginning, and less towards the end of its lifecycle. The income also depends on how "unspoiled" the sister's realm is. But this is a spoiler itself, so we'll skip on that. ;)

Strictly speaking, trees by an large are the only color income that IS NOT random. All the other color, including lympha flowers, small animals, mines, is distributed at a world update each cycle, i.e. the only think you can do is collect as much as you can (or play with save-load to achive this^_^).

The income of a tree does not depend on the amount of lympha in this tree. Fell free to collect all that was grown. Or do not collect, if you wish. Only the initial amount matters. The amount of lympha you spent when reviving the tree. Also, Violet influences the effect when you revive the tree (Ava shall say more on this).

Okay, thanks for the hints. I think I'll look at my previous saves to see what I have available. My problem is that I have a bunch of trees that I only gave 1 or 2 units of colour in the start, before I really knew what I was doing (or, well, at least I was more clueless then, not saying I know what I'm doing now). So they're virtually useless.

Do I have to kill the predators in my mines and gardens? Or can I just avoid them?

you don't have to kill them, unless you've got some color to waste

Most certainly not! :-)

Thanks.

Unless you're talking about the Nameless Sister's quest, you don't have to. In fact, killing them will cause some problems in the future.
