| Post subject: | domain damage question |
Hello all, I'm still having fun with this game although I'm playing it rather slowly (habitual reloader I'm afraid) however I have a small question about domain damage. I know that attacks and other expenditure of colour damages the domain I`m in. However does the domain also get damaged when you feed a sister in her own domain? Reason I ask is because I do tend to fill up with silver when fighting but I never did it for feeding. on a completely different note I read in the forums that there is talk about a patch with a few tweaks? cheaper traps etc. any progress on this? anyway I`m off to try and kick the pangolin in the proboscis many thanks for your help. |

Most domain damage is done by feeding the Sisters - twice the usual amount. Fighting and using glyphs damages the domain by 1.25. Reviving trees only damages the domain by 0.75. |

Really? that's nasty. o well I`ll make sure to tank up with silver next time I feed one of them, may redo cycle 11 since I filled about 4 hearts that turn to get to a few more domains. thanks for the info |

No need to restrart - the game is balanced so you can advance forward without critically damaging domains, unless you do everything-everything. ) |

Huh, as I played through the void I actually assumed the opposite, that feeding sisters would not damage their domain at all( I thought, that if anything it should heal it) and that Trees would damage it the most since the color most come from somewhere, and the domain seems most reasonable. And the game really is well balanced for domain damage, I never killed one domain despite almost never using silver(only when planting the biggest gardens). |

Look here for details: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9318 Basically, a domain has got "lots of HP", so that just opening only two sister's hearts won't destroy it. |

Right now I'm starting to get more color than I know what do with, and I'm trying to figure out how to best invest it. Since each sister only likes certain colors, am I expected to be feeding multiple sisters beyond the second heart? |

What cycle are you in? Because if you've unlocked all of the void, chances are you'll start facing more enemies soon. |

I have unlocked all the void with the exception of Yani's heart. I think I'm on Cycle 18. The main thing is I have this huge reservoir of Emerald such that I can't gather more Lympha without putting it in my hearts but I'm full of Nerva already. I killed Triton who seemed mostly vulnerable to green (Was it just me or was Triton way easier to kill that the Pangolin?), so that helped for a turn, but I have several huge green trees and the only thing I can think to use it for now is giving to sisters or investing in even more trees. Random efficiency question: If you're not getting enough of a color, and you only have, say, 40 of it currently and expect to get another 30-40 in another cycle, is it better to invest that 50 now even though it's not enough to fill a tree, or to wait till you can fill a whole tree at once? |

I would think it is probably better to wait till you can fill the whole tree at once. specially on the big trees it can make quite a bit of difference. especially on the 2nd turn where the tree gives only about half of the previous yield so if your first yield wasn't optimal to begin with then you are kinda shooting yourself in the foot. I could be wrong of course I'm only in turn 11 experimenting on how to optimally blow up the pangolin's exoskeleton. |

You should always fill trees to the full. And as for having too much of a color, there isn't much you can do. I recommend trying to finish the brother quests you havn't done, unlocking all of the void, and prepare for the coming storm. |

so here's the part of domain damage I'm a little unclear on: Does feeding the Sisters cause extra damage because you're feeding a Sister, or just because you're using those colors? Or is it both and you're getting hit by the "Sister Feeding Penalty" and the "Sister's Favorite Color Penalty" at the same time? And if that's the case, does poisoning a Sister do extra damage to her Realm as well? |

Quote: so here's the part of domain damage I'm a little unclear on:
Both hit. x1.5 for feeding the Sister, x1.2 for using her colours. In total, it is 2.4 times more harmful than reviving the tree with neutral color (and only 2 times more dangerous in case the tree is revived with one of two sister's colours).Does feeding the Sisters cause extra damage because you're feeding a Sister, or just because you're using those colors? Or is it both and you're getting hit by the "Sister Feeding Penalty" and the "Sister's Favorite Color Penalty" at the same time? And if that's the case, does poisoning a Sister do extra damage to her Realm as well? Poisoning Sister should also damage the realm. Why not? |

Well sure poisoning her should damage the realm. My question was weather poisoning a Sister also hit you with the x1.5 penalty that feeding her does. |

Alright so recapping assuming you do not fill yourself up with silver you do x2.4 damage when feeding a sister with her preferred colours ? x1.5 when poisoning her? (bit odd if that's the case poisoning would be less damaging then feeding to the domain?) x1.25 fighting glyph use or x1.45 when using preferred colours? x0.75 reviving trees or x0.95 when using preferred colours? or have I got my wires completely mixed up. |

Here's a question I don't think I've seen anyone ask on this topic: does the color you use drawing your paths on the "world map" cause damage to any domains? |

Nope, it doesn't. |

Another nit-picky question! If I use Donor to drop color on the ground to bait a firefly and I pick the color back up before it dissipates, does that damage the domain? edit: oops! you... can't pick back up color you dropped with donor. I thought I did once, but I must have just thought I did. I guess that makes sense... if you could, you could convert Nerva back to Lympha, and the whole balancing act of processing Color would becoming really easy. |

You probably grabbed a firefly or plant with more colour then you could hold. it makes a similar drop on the floor but those you can absorb as soon as you free up some space in your lympha nodes however on a previous post: Quote: Here's a question I don't think I've seen anyone ask on this topic: does the color you use drawing your paths on the "world map" cause damage to any domains?
That brings me on a few questions, does using colours in the void actually do anything? you have the meters with blue merely slowing time down in a chamber instead of stopping and crimson causing more enemies to appear etc.is that actually active? Also what about the roaming sister Echo does she deal damage to the domain she is in when you feed her or does she not do damage at all? or is it maybe spread around to all of the realm? Thanks, |

Colour properties in the void are not active in the international version |

Quote: You probably grabbed a firefly or plant with more colour then you could hold. it makes a similar drop on the floor but those you can absorb as soon as you free up some space in your lympha nodes Yes, I'm sure it was this, with the firefly. I probably baited the firefly, tried to drain the firefly, couldn't hold it all, and had a blob squirt onto the ground in basically the same place as my bait blob, so I looked down and saw the drain indicator and a number and thought I was able to pick my bait back up.Quote:

If you're asking about the effects of using color to draw your paths through the world map, I believe that using more color causes you to go travel faster.is that actually active? You're also asking about the "meters" in the Void section of the journal? Those are affected by Color you use anywhere. They're the percentages of all the Color you've ever used. The one for Azure, at least, is a bit misleading. From what I understand, time still "stops" for all practical purposes while you're in a chamber, even if the only Color you've ever used is Azure. That is, you never process Color while in a chamber. But, if I understand it correctly, if the Azure meter is really high, once you leave a chamber you'll see that the time counter has moved forward some. So you might enter a chamber on, say, Cycle 8:75, and when you come out it's Cycle 8:72, perhaps. I'm not sure I've ever actually seen this happen myself, but then I don't usually remember exactly what "tick" I'm on when I enter a chamber, and my Azure has probably never been above 20%.[/quote] Quote:

This I have no idea about, so I'd love to hear the answer. I haven't met her yet. Aren't there 2 wandering sisters?

Are you joking or do you mean something other than what I think you mean? Because I have definitely witnessed the effects of too much Emerald being "in the Void" (that is, increased base costs of Glyphs). The other Color's effects are harder to spot conclusively, though I've been using a lot of Amber lately and it sure seems like the Brothers are raiding "my" color more often.

Well, the property that makes that happen in the configuration file is turned off. In the russian version those changes where very easy to see through out the game. |

Okay, if that's true that's kind of, well, ridiculous. In the russian version those changes where very easy to see through out the game. Why would that be turned off? There's a whole thing in the in-game journal that tells you about these downsides using different colors is going to have, and there actually are no downsides at all? If they wanted to remove the effects of Color on the Void, they should have taken that section out of the journal. |

Well, it is all psychological Most people still "see" those effects happen even if they aren't. But if you wish I can turn on that property. |
