I don't really know how this forum works and whether this will be treated as spam or not, nevertheless, I feel like venting my frustration and disappointment, and because The Void is a reason for both of these feelings, I decided this forum will be an appropriate place. So, after trying Wine and different versions of CrossOver I had access to (had an old one, so I though if it had worked, I wouldn't have to buy a new one) I finally managed to run The Void on Mac OS X. I rarely play, there were three other games in last 2 years or so I decided to give a try and actually played. And I felt in love with this game. I played some time, started to grasp how things work, and were amazed by beauty of the game, wonderful atmosphere... Until I needed to get to one of the other sisters' chambers. Then the game crashed. And it crashed every time I tried, even on earlier save, so making any progress at that point was impossible. How the fate could be so cruel to me? I was ready to spend additional $40 on software allowing me to run this game (I was playing on CrossOver trial), but I can't afford a decent PC for this game only. And installing Windows as a second system wouldn't do, I need this HDD space. It's your fault, people from Ice-pick Lodge, that I'm so miserable right now, because you made such an awesome game. It wouldn't be that bad if I couldn't play it at all, but I actually tasted it and loved, and I can't get more, so I decided to at least spam you forum to feel better. Have a good day. |

I hate you, Ice-Pick, and I hate you, The Void. I installed Windows today just to play this game, because it's so captivating, overwhelmingly amazing and hypnotizing, I just had to. You have no idea how much of a psychological trauma that is for a Mac-neophite. |

Absolutely confirm. It's so counter-productive, spending time on the game instead of doing things I should be doing, I know that perfectly well, yet I keep playing. I suppose I have to schedule my game time and stick to this schedule, or else I'll easily ruin a lot of stuff in not so distant future... And I don't remember such thing happening in the past, so it only shows how different The Void is from every other thing I played. |

I've just finished the game and wanted to say thank you for such a beautiful and thrilling experience. It was amazing. Still hate you for making me install Windows, though. (But if you ever make a Mac verison - because, I don't know, you're bored - I'll be first one to buy it) |
