I'd rather want to play the original russian version than a toned down version for the western market, so I've finally got the russian version of the game, but there's no english subtitles patch on it. Where can those be found?

PM the LXR, maybe he'll help you on this one.

Are you sure? I agree with the OPs sentiment, as many US/UK (especially US) releases get toned down and I personally prefer to play my games as close to the source/developers wishes as possible. I heard there are differences with the German version, so it's not a stretch to think that censoring may occur.

I've played both versions ;)

This isn't getting released in the US, the land where a head exploding is more acceptable than a nipple. So you don't have to worry about anything getting toned down. In fact there is a lot added to the English release that wasn't in the Russian version. Also, from what I hear the English subtitles are meant for the re-written English version, not a translated Russian version, so the subtitles don't match and often go too fast.

There were English subtitles for the original Russian version. Just the translation. The game was not intended to be remade before the release. We got really lucky with people from Atari noticing our game and proposing actually do something before releasing the game.

I concur, where might one find English subtitles for this game?

I just prefer hearing the original voices so I can lose myself in the atmosphere.

So are is there a full English translation or what? I always prefer subtitles over dubbing (although this isn't really dubbed).

I know the Russian dialogue has got to be better than the English, plus I think Russian is a very beautiful language to hear. Also it would make for an even more exotic experience in my opinion.

To be honest, I was disappointed with Ole's voice actress in English. Such a pretty character model, I was expecting the young voice of an angel... and got the voice of a 40 year old chain smoker (think Patty and Selma from The Simpsons... ok not quite that bad). I haven't heard all the Sisters yet, but I know it's got to be better in Russian.

I'd like to buy the Gift Edition of Turgor as well, but I can't seem to find it.

Once again, beautiful game! The whole thing is a work of ART, from top to bottom.

EDIT: Halfgild, just re-read your post, do you mean Turgor comes with the option to turn on English subtitles for the dialogue?

nameless sister's got the best voice... in my opinion... it's like... so relaxing to hear her say "you're almost depleted, you're dying"

Oh I agree on that. Most of the English voice acting is excellent, just a few don't fit imo.

I don't think Yani's voice quite fits either. She looks so young, I was expecting a much younger sounding voice. She sounds a lot like Nameless (same actress?). Russians and Japanese are very good at getting the whole 'lolitaesque' voice acting going.

For those of you interested in Russian voice-over I uploaded one more video with different voices on my youtube channel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeN7iJlwlmU
(Ole, Yani, Yuna and Caterpillar are recorded)
Previously there was a comparison between Russian and German voices for Ava nad Uta.
