Hello, I am going to annotate the map of the town as part of my last mod. So:

I have an important question for you all:
- Can you remember any location that was hard or frustrating to find?

Two smaller questions:
- what do you think should be written on the map?
- Should a letter be added to each shop telling what kind of goods it sells?

A few possibilities:
- Rivers
- Main Districts
- Minor Districts (I will likely leave most of these out if they can't be located and/or aren't used often in the plots)
- A few other areas (Rotten Fields)
- Squares

By the way, it is interesting to note the positions of the broken churches, water system and standing stones. Its certainly interesting to examine the map in detail...

Finally, if anyone wants to help produce copies of this (or the other mod) for languages other than English I'd be happy to help.

Hm... I think there's a map with marks in the English walkthrough. :)

Haha, I was going to write that there already are marks, but then I remembered that I actually drew them by myself on a piece of paper. :D I wanted to have control over my surroundings. If you're planning on making a mod, then sure, make letters; F (food), E (equipment) and... was there something more? Weapons, sometimes, perhaps? But do stores really always have the same type of items? Don't they sometimes have food, sometimes not, and sometimes nothing at all? Will the letters change from day to day?

Yes, I just discovered that about 30 seconds ago! :D

Anyway, it saves quite a bit of work. Do you have a higher resolution version available? The pdf compression makes some of the smaller writing impossible to read. I'm still going to try annotating the in game map with a few of the basic names.

No, the letter would be unchanging. What I intend to do is essentially make a few pencil marks on the in game map, nothing more (I doubt we have the tools to do it easily, anyway -LxR: hint, hint- ).

Stores have a mixture of items that vary in price and number from day to day. But, they do organise into three categories (the third one is food).

If I remember correctly, we could produce a mod to modify the mixture of goods at each store (eg. All stores would have all three types of goods etc.)
Heteronymph: Do you think it is a good idea to play with these values? I didn't want to disrupt the game's balance.

* I heard about the tools. Trust me, they can't be released to public. Serious work must be done.

It's a part of the desperate hunt for disease, death and survival to make it a habit exploring what stores have from day to day, and what they don't have. There seems to be chance involved, which I like. So if the stores don't have the same category of food from day to day, then I wouldn't change anything. Perhaps food from some stores (some day) could have the plague? Meat perhaps? (it was not easy being a vegan in pathologic, I gave up pretty quick!)

The news is that Halfgild has sent me a higher resolution copy of the map from the walkthrough and it can be converted so as to work in game. There is one bug but I think I'm very close to have the cause pinned down. He also sent a translation of the tombstone from the graveyard. I'

Heteronymph, I'm pretty sure the food supplies available in stores seem to be randomised (and reset) at either 7am or midnight (I haven't checked which). I checked out the values I found and they appear to by binary switches for four types of inventory (if they work - which I haven't tested - then it looks like I could change the type of store). I think I'll take your advice and leave things as they are though.

The user interface descriptions of food items seem to imply that it was at least planned for some foods to be randomly infected. So far, I have never been infected by food in game (but then again I rarely buy food from infected districts). I haven't found any values relating to this either, if it exists it is in the scripts or somewhere else that is currently inaccessible (but that is true of most parts of the game so it could well be the case).

I too considered a vegetarian diet and quickly gave up the idea. Last I heard, there is only one vegetarian restaurant in Moscow, correct? Anyway, one thing I miss is hunting - when the Bachelor is starving even those rats look tasty.

Thanks for look into the tools LxR (I misunderstood earlier)

Because the question was asked and never answered here: The three types of stores in Pathologic are medicine, food, and clothing. Occasionally a shop will be empty, and I believe the plague spread has something to do with it though there's no situation that guarantees a shop'll be bare that I've found.
I really wish you could make it so that annotations only appear when you've visited a shop or bought a map update from Vlad the younger, but that would require a proper SDK. :(
