First of all it was quite difficult registering on the site thanks to my lack of Russian knowledge but now I'm finally here so cheers.
Anyway I've never played this game and have first heard of it only today. Some of what I read sounded very intriguing so I went digging around for anything I could find (in English) on the premise of this game and spent the past few hours reading up on it more.
What interests me is that reviewers have commented on the games deep storyline that isn't afraid to dip its toes into mature philosophical and psychological subjects, delivering a very thought provoking narrative.
I'm a big fan of video games that go beyond mindless entertainment and "fun" pursuing something more relevant with a deeper meaning. Not many such games exist "yet" (hopefully this will change)
So my question is, does Pathologic carry a storyline with a substance/meaning behind it, something for the brain to wrap itself around and really think about once all is said and done?
Some examples of such games that I love are Planescape Torment, XenoGears and Metal Gear Solid 2 for their extremely in depth, thought provoking storylines that really transcend games, film and literature.
BTW; I've heard many bad things about the English translation but am aware of a new, improved translation being made. If I do get the game I'd prefer to wait for the reworked translation so I can enjoy Pathologic better depending on when it comes out. So when is the new translation expected to be finished?
Thanks.
