What I love about Pathologic is how the creators combined both reality and fantasy in a steppe environment. Yes, I'm talking about the non-human creatures.

This might sound really stupid, but the first time I saw the Dog Heads (1st day, Powder house quest), I freaking lost it! I was like SWEETJESUSWHATKINDOFMONSTERISTHAT?!?!

On the other hand, whenever I see the Odonghe (steppe Worms), I'm melting of the sheer sugary cuteness they are! I swear if there was Pathologic merchandise, I'd buy a dozen Odonghe plushies for me and my friends to sleep with at night!

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Before I got on the team, I saw Pathologic on Russian GDC - and holy damned shit - I felt exactly the same as you did, when I saw the dogheads. The Odonghe actually also scare the shit out of me: I was running after one and suddenly it turns around and attacks! OMG, I'll never forget those eyes.

OMG, the almighty The LxR responded to my thread! Also, if you didn't notice in the original post, I was subtly hinting at creating a merchandise line.... pretty please, I want an Odonghe plushie and maybe a tank top

Oh yeah, another cool character is the Rat Prophet. Just plain freaking cool and a bit creepy.

I know Odong plushies would sell like crazy - They might even be more desirable than the Cthulhu plushies

Anyway, I'm the same as you guys: The first time I saw the dogheads, I completely freaked out. It was such a shock - The perfect horror - Something familiar mixed with something completely odd and wrong. I remember going up the stairs in that house... walking towards the bedroom... then this *thing* walks right out in front of me!

I love the way that the strange creatures are just *there* in Pathologic - no-one questions their presence. As with so many other things in the steppe town, they're just part of everyday life.

I also think the character designs are so damn cool. The Odong, the Tragedian and *especially* the Executor are just iconic. I would love one of those bird masks for Halloween
