A friend of mine is currently over in Poland & having seen my interest in Tension last year, informed me that it had been released over there (I haven't really been watching Tension's continued development) & is offering to get me a copy & bring it back with him in a couple of weeks. I just have a few questions, the main being is there english subtitles or something similar available? & if not, where is this fabled 'english subtitles' patch located?

In any case, from what I've seen of the gameplay videos, etc, I think you (the developers) have done an amazing job with this game & I can't wait to play it.

There are no English subtitles in the Polish version. There is a rough English subtitles patch you can get hold of, but it has a few issues and is an early draft.

A much-enhanced, English-language version (re-titled 'The Void') is due for release very soon. I'd recommend waiting for that.

Really? Do we know when it is to be released? Or a rough estimate? And in which english speaking countries? Because in my sad experience, it takes MANY months for games to get released in Australia after it has been released in other countries.

In fact, due to my renewed interest in Tension (due to me watching lots of gameplay videos on youtube), I may just get my friend to get me a copy anyway - it can't hurt & I like to support smallish 'indie' gaming companies (plus I've had very good experiences with other russian indie games, such as KD-Labs with Vangers/Perimeter). So how is one to get this english subtitles patch? And can I offer my services in regards to making it less rough?

Supposedly the European version of the game will be out on the 28th of May. Amazon DE is already listing the game, but afaik being Atari the publisher, the game is only schedule to be released in Europe.

I agree with hydra9, you are best served if you wait for the European version (an enhanced version of the Russian original version) and then order it from Europe.

Well between yourself and hydra9 I have been convinced to wait until the english release. Thank you very much for your combined help/advice.

By the way, Throdax, amazing job with the 'longplay' videos that you have uploaded to youtube - I have enjoyed watching a few of them & they certainly provide a good idea of what the game is like.

Is there any further word on the EU English release?

I've been checking the Atari and Amazon sites regularly this week and other than on the German versions of the two sites there is no indication even of the existence of the game.

Also, when I checked in with my local game retailers last weekend, none of them had a release date either.

I know it's not the biggest of game releases, but I would have expected a publisher like Atari to at least be acknowledging the existence of the game two days before it's supposed release date...

Sorry - Still no official date for the English version. However, I am reliably informed that it should be with us by the end of June.

Hopefully we'll start seeing some press coverage soon...

What?! The Germans get it in 2 days and we have to wait another freaking month? I am not amused!

Thanks for the update! :)

At least now I know why all the staff in the games shops looked at me in such confusion. :P

 Don't worry about it. I did the same thing a few months before Cryostasis was finally released. At the time, they hadn't even heard of it.

Check the date of your post. It was made after the game's release. Given that the game had been already available "yesterday", it sounded really strange that the release was just going to be " in a week or two".
