The Void is
terrifying.
Surprised people haven't really mentioned just how unnerving this is to play. I'm making my way through the German demo at the moment, not really trying to understand what's going on, just exploring. I think I've made some bad decisions though since I feel doomed to run out of colour before the next cycle but anyway: I've opened up, I don't know the name of the chamber in English, but it's the one with the gigantic tree and the thing swinging overhead, and God - it's just so scary to step onto the branches. Actually all the predators scare the living crap out of me because, brilliantly, they don't always seem to be interested. Then they just go for you. The whole game experience is akin to a nightmare, which must have been the intention. I am literally amazed and I cannot wait for the English version like the rest of us. For a long time I've harboured a wish of playing a game that is like being in a dream, not in the sense of being surreal or random, but in encapsulating the feeling of dreaming, and this is perhaps the closest a game has gotten in my experience. Also, the art direction is astounding - I could look at those twisted rocks in the first chamber all day long.
Didn't mean for that paragraph to just turn into superlatives. Look, you've definitely gotta sale here.
I have a question though: when I entered the chamber with the tree and swinging dude, there was one of those wheels, like the one in the bottom left, in the top right corner, and also a colour guage thing, like the sister's have to show how...er...full they are. Why are they there? I'm too curious.
