Hi everyone

I discovered The Void via the articles on Rock Paper Shotgun. It sounded exactly the kind of game I love so I pestered my girlfriend to buy it for my upcoming birthday, which is Saturday. It arrived yesterday and I have to wait until Saturday to play it! The wait is killing me. For the last month I've been desperately trying to read more and more about the game whilst trying even more desperately to avoid spoilers.

And then what do the devs do? They only go and release all that bonus content as a torrent! So of course I had to grab it all. I just had a very quick flick through some of the artwork, but I've allowed myself a long listen to some of the absolutely incredible soundtrack.

My god I can't wait for Saturday. I spend so much time on the Web looking for more talk about The Void. Every five minutes....."oooh, I wonder if someone on the internet somewhere has mentioned The Void again?" I should see a doctor really.

But still, congratulations to the devs for the favourable reviews that have been steadily trickling in. From the look of things, you richly deserve them. Frankly, most of the criticisms that have been made sound like the kind of things I would enjoy in a game, heh. All I've seen and heard about The Void sounds amazing. The art direction, the Sisters, the Brothers, the afterlife setting, the music....oh goooooood I can't wait.

Is it Saturday yet? :(

I've just bought it too... I don't think we will ever see an italian translation of this, so i bought the english one. It should arrive during the next week.
The script is much shorter than Pathologic, isn't it? XD Some times ago i saw people talking about an english demo but I can't find it anywhere :(

There was a German demo, but no English one as far as I know.

Heh, no demo required for me! I've seen enough to be pretty certain I'm going to love The Void.

How about now? Is it Saturday now? And if not, why not?!

IT'S SATURDAY!

Of course, I have a young daughter so I can't actually play The Void until she's gone to bed, but at least I can read through the manual and gently caress the disc. :)

Congrats. Hope you enjoy it. :)

I made a deal with myself that I'm not allowed to buy The Void until I've first completed the Haruspicus route in Pathologic. I'm right at the start of day 10 at the moment. Unfortunately, I also picked up STALKER the other day and am playing it with the "Stalker Complete" mod. What a game and what a mod! Can't believe I never got round to it until now.

The Void is next. I'm very excited.

Thanks Shazbut! I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I had three games given to me today, but the others won't get a look-in until I've played The Void. I can't remember the last time I was this excited by a game.

I haven't bought Pathologic yet. I'd rather buy games boxed but it's difficult to get hold of these days, sadly. I wish I'd been aware of it at the time of its release. I avoid digital distribution where possible, but it looks like I'll be buying Pathologic from Gamersgate at some point. It sounds really intriguing.

I haven't finished STALKER but I do have it and I love it. I find it pretty difficult although I hear it gets less so as you progress. I like difficult though. The atmosphere in that game is just unrivalled. Thank god for Eastern European developers, eh? They're keeping gaming interesting all by themselves!
