Sorry all, i'v looked to find something in my language area to contribute.. but didn't really find anything.. exept for this.. http://forum.i3d.net/huiskamer-dutch/48 ... me-41.html it's not really much though.. just some people posting a pic from a game and others have to guess it.. lol no review or such either.

Although theres a pic from The Void, the guy does give others a hint by mentioning *Ice-Pick Lodge* after people made wrong guesses and it gets guessed right after that.

The game can't be found in stores in my country either, so thats probably why i can't find anything.

If any1 is interested, I found few reviews in polish language. But these are about Tension. I am kinda confused if i should write about tension or not, bcuz almost every post in English-Speaking Forum is about the void.

Well anyway:
http://technopolis.polityka.pl/2008/ten ... cenzja-gry
Ocena: 6/6 !!! = Rating
++: Art.
--: Too Little. Too short.

http://gamelobby.pl/recenzja/674/tension/16/
Ocena końcowa: 8/10 = Final Rating

http://www.gry.gildia.pl/gry/tension/recenzja
Ocena ogólna: 9.5/10 = Overall Rating

http://gry.gery.pl/pc/tension/recenzja.html
Usesr rating: 9.1/10
Editorial rating: 9.5/10

I like the beginning of review on gery.pl (last one). I will try to translate that:
"They say that they don't create games that require thinking anymore.
They say that they don't create unique games anymore.
They say that they don't create games with candy colours anymore. (candy colours = not realistic colours~")
They say, and then they go into THE VOID, and they are unable to say anything"

I did my best to translate that :D Hope you understand ^^

Wow. Guess we should correct the Wikipedia entry!

Here's a page that collected scores from Polish reviews, both digital (with links to the full reviews) and printed:
Tension at bazarecenzji.pl

So yeah, with the average being 75%, (and with five 90%+ scores) I'd say that what the English Wikipedia page for The Void says about the game's reception in Poland might be a bit far-fetched.

Overall there's way too much stuff for me translate, use Google. :P

BTW, that last 40% review in its summary said it's a game with unrealized potential, unplayable, pseudopoetic, and bordering on kitsch - a game version of David Lynch's Inland Empire. I haven't seen the film, so it's hard for me to say if it's an unintentional compliment - I guess everyone will have to decide on their own... :)

EDIT: There's also the average score from the players' votes - 87% (from 14 votes); they again make another average from the players' and the reviewers' scores, hence the 81% next to the box art.

Not much of a forum, but I prattled on about the game at some length on Livejournal here: http://community.livejournal.com/girl_g ... style=mine

I wasn't as eloquent (or wordy) as I would have liked, but it was a post for a general audience so I didn't want to turn them away with a giant wall of text. I've no idea if I managed to convince anybody to purchase a copy, but hey. =)

A very nicely written wall of text. If I wasn't already a salivating fanboy then that review would have hooked me in ;)

"Completely mind-blowingly different in every conceivable way." :D That's a great compliment. It's also nice to see a person who's speaking as though his brain is in the process of being destroyed... But who also kinda likes the experience!

I still think that Pathologic is not really that difficult. Harsh, yes, but not too difficult.

The Void is harder, but it's more due to high levels of uncertainty and constant intense micromanagement.

As for Demon's Souls... I would love to play it. But I don't have a PS3.

(P.S. It's also very nice to have this kind of exposure for IPL's games on a site like Destructoid. Particularly Pathologic, that never had an American retail release.)

Hmmm.....it may be worthwhile directing the chap in the video to these forums and the easy mode patch that's being worked on. I'm hoping like heck that Zero Punctuation *doesn't* review The Void. Yahtzee would use it as nothing more than a base for an endless stream of tits and ass jokes and his loyal fanbase would immediately spread the word that The Void is shit. Don't get me wrong, I do like ZP but The Void doesn't need the sort of publicity ZP would give it.

I'm sure he won't.

Even if he will, have you noticed, that he rants about every game, and then points out the good parts? And also reviews all the hits. It's a frwak-show strategy, where negative response is actually good PR. Even though I'd hate to see the dark humour applied to the Void.

That would be very helpful.
