I found all six veins in the two mines, but I can't seem to engage Mantid in conversation. I can meet him, but nothing is ever said minus the occasional "get behind me, little one," or whatever he says. Am I supposed to wait until the end of the four cycles and let him approach me?

In Una's mine chamber I see a heart on a ledge high up, but when I try climbing the wall it puts me back in the void. Does this mean there is a glyph I need to get it (trying to find the web so I can beat the whatever monster (starts with a P)?

Anyway, love the game so far despite being utterly confused at times (or all the time ). Such a wonderful atmosphere, which is the easiest way for a game to get into my heart.

Unrelated: I've been interested in playing Pathologic for awhile now, but I've heard the English translation isn't very good. Is there an official re-translation, or even an unofficial one?

I can answer some of these:
Don't worry about it. You don't need to speak to him. The task is complete anyway.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a trap there (in Heathen). Also, it's a reservation - not a garden. I don't think reservations have traps.

Yes, you'll need the Magnet glyph. It's in a chamber not too far away...
No. There's a massive amount of text in the game, which makes re-translation a huge task, and is why it hasn't happened yet. But if you're patient and willing to read everything carefully, I don't think you'll have too much trouble. The translation is poor, but understandable (apart from a few lines here and there ) and the game is definitely worth the effort, IMO

I do have a small question to add on to this though.

There is a small bar in the left bottom corner that fills up with every colour you put in your heart but it only goes to 100% so is there any point in filling up your hearts with more than the 100%. especially with gold it could be handy as it means that I only need to reserve a 100 points worth of colour and can use every thing else for spreading joy through the void.

I'll probably answer this myself tomorrow but if someone knows that would save me messing about tonight.

Well, filling your hearts as much as possible before a fight is a good idea. But no, there's no modifier bonus for filling beyond the 100%.

nifty, thanks for that. that just freed up some gold I can use without having to save it for getting cheaper heart fills.

Yup, for gold this is definitively true. For colors that are useful during fights (green, red, blue, maybe silver) I like to fill with more than 100, so that if I loose some color in the fight, I still have the 100% bonus.

I resorted using the show_physics console command
It turned out to be in a shadowed area just above right of the entrance. Sneaky vein :p
