The original Russian poems by
Maximilian Voloshin were a tough nut to crack. The thing you hear is, in fact, an edited and adapted version, so it's surprising you still have trouble. The first version of the translation is even more bizzare.
to the LXR
A nice lesson to learn. No matter how you much you simplify, they still seem to need the subtitles.
And what is so surprising about that Mr. ? Not everybody speaks fluent English and even if one does, subtitles are much of a help, especially when in need to understand poems, which were originally Russian btw! I really did miss subtitles in the end and never was able to understand completely what the poems said.
For understanding a poem you need to read it once and then second time so you can think about it and eventually catch the true meaning / metaphor, which is rather difficult if someone catches every second word.
